First of all - be prepared to get naked in mixed spaces. The changing rooms, saunas, pools and tubs are all naked areas, which might be a problem for a bit more shy visitors : I read that there's also some days called 'swimsuit days' though.
Besides all the nakedness, the variety of saunas that this place has to offer is amazing. Coming from a sauna friendly culture, I tried a lot of completely new types of saunas and really enjoyed every single one of them. Also, around every corner basically you will find a different pool or tub to jump into. Hot, cold, bubbly, not bubbly, salty, not salty - it's all there. We went on Valentine's day Sunday, so obviously the place was crowded. Besides the slight awkwardness in the changing room while getting naked side-by-side with all the other Dutch people - we managed to still find our corner in each sauna and pool and enjoy our stay.
The place got much less crowded from 5 PM though - in the evening we even found ourselves alone in some of the tubs and saunas. Make sure to try the salty outside pool! Floating in the salty, hot water while it's windy and cold outside was absolutely worth the try! When it comes to customers service don't expect to be catered to if there is a problem.
Each time that we have gone to this spa we have had worse and worse experiences with staff, making it the opposite of the tranquil visit we were expecting. Yes, the facilities are lovely, however, you must know all of the ridiculously rigid rules in advance. You must study the fine print on the website in Dutch as there is no room for error. Not knowing these rules means you will be treated as a petulant child rather than a paying guest.
For instance, if your robe is not terrycloth, but some other fabric, you will not be allowed to dine in the restaurants nor will you be allowed to put on clothes to eat there, nor wear your towel either. Nevermind that we could see other people wearing clothes in the dining area. Make sure that if you make a reservation that you bring a print out of your confirmation, in case they can't find it and turn you away.
